We at First Congo are people of extravagant welcome. Whether you are young or old, gay or straight, single or partnered, happy or sad, confused or inspired, street smart or college-educated, whether you can’t pay your bills or have more than enough to share – no matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome to join us as we love and serve the God who welcomes us all. A member church of the United Church of Christ, we are diverse in our theology, but united in our love of Christ and our desire to be faithful disciples.
On most Sundays we hold two identical services at 9am and 10:30, with Sunday school for children ages three through 7th grade. Infant/childcare is also lovingly provided.
On Maundy Thursday, we will come together at 8pm in our Sanctuary to commemorate the darkness that preceded Jesus’ resurrection. Our labyrinth will be available for walking after the service. We will hold another guided labyrinth walk on Good Friday from 6-8pm. And, on Easter Sunday, we will hold a meditative chapel service at 8:00am and two traditional services — complete with timpani and brass — at 9:00 and 10:30am. We hope you’ll join us.
